History and Mission

The Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (VABVI) was founded in 1926 with assistance from Helen Keller and the American Foundation for the Blind.

Our mission is to enable Vermonters with vision problems, whether blindness or impairment, to achieve and maintain independence.

We are Vermont's only rehabilitation organization to provide comprehensive support, training, and services to visually impaired consumers of all ages!
